Have you got your Christmas opening hours planned and set?
It can be a really difficult task to ensure Christmas hours are set correctly for your salon to benefit but also to ensure that your team are happy. Many salons tend to open later evenings and even Sundays in the few weeks directly before Christmas or even for the whole of December.
Let me remind you now – you will not make everybody happy with the hours that you set. We all have different plans, some with more pressing commitments than others like families and partners to consider that also work different times or have time off over the Christmas period. This also is the same for the hours you set between Christmas and New Year and over the New Year Period.
The easier and most fairest way to decide who is working what days is to pull their names out of a hat, or better still get your team to pull the names out of a hat. And why not do this in a team meeting?
Once you have your Christmas hours in place and your team know, start spreading the word to all your clients. This can be done through a variety of methods. Such as using your social media platforms, emailing your data base, or face to face when your clients visit the salon for their regular appointments.
If you are going to use social media or email marketing be sure to do this a couple of times over 2 to 3 weeks.
